Coming into my second Half Marathon, reflecting on just how much I stepped up in 2026 to do what I wanted.

#run #runningcommunity #running

These moments small moments, helped me this year already achieve something that 2 years ago I would of laughed off. This year already;

3 x 10km
2 x 10 miles
1 x 13.1 miles - Half Marathon number one 😉.

Let’s talk about that adrenaline rush at the finish line 👀

By this point, whatever you are doing 5, 10, 21.1 or 42km race at the end you are most likely trying to gain some speed, watching that clock ontop of the finish line or just simply seeing the familiar ‘finish’ gate.

What not a lot of people talk about it how suffocating that last stretch is.

You’ve been running outside of a gated pen for majority of your race and then all of a sudden your penned in.

The finish line stretch is PACKED with people and suddenly it feels for me, very claustrophobic (hence the no smiles pics lol).

I always find that last stretch unbearable.

It’s loud, your heart rate is super high and suddenly such a small pace to run through.

In the end, your body digs so deep that you cross that line, but Jesus Christ… it’s intense.

Anyone else? Let me know 👇🏼

🌟Steve🌟

Huge congratulations to Steve on running his first 10km race this weekend 🙌🏻

Steve reached out for coaching after running his first 5km and having signed up for a 15 mile race in July. He was adamant that he would not let running take over his life. Fast forward a few weeks and he has signed up for Brighton Marathon 2027! 🎉

His training continues ahead of the Bewl 15 mile trail race in a few weeks 🌟

DOUBLE RACE POST !

Sunday 7th saw me take on the Worthing 10k,
A fast flat road race, although the headwind on the way out had other ideas ! Managed to come away with a 33:07 which is only 22 seconds slower than my PB so not unhappy with that !
9th place
——————-
Tuesday 9th
Then a quick turnaround saw me racing again the Tuesday night in a club only race ! This was the polar opposite of Sundays outing with it being trail and hills in the country park 10.3k with over 260m of elevation ! Despite this I came away with not only a win but a course record as well ! 39:28
——————
3 days 2 races / Top 10 in a fast Sussex based race and then picking up a win on soil closer to home !
——————-
Overall rating 8/10 felt like I could have done better in Worthing
Happy with a quick recovery to go again on Tuesday !
——————-
Excellent planning from rbrunningandwellbeing
Always proud to represent hastingsrunners
Fuelling with scienceinsport beta gels

What’s been going on lately 🙌🏼

I’ve been getting a lot of messages / comments lately (specially after Worthing 10ks results 🔥) as to how impressive my running has got and how I’m “smashing” it at the moment.

Now trust me, this means a lot to me to receive these amazing comments and that people are noticing. But it’s just that.. no one notices what goes into getting to these places or understand what it can / has to take. They just see the results..

So I thought I’d share some of the insights to what’s got my running to its current level and what’s going to be the reason that I get even better 💪🏼🔥

Hope this helps people ✌🏼

Death, taxes and windy seafront races! 😂
After a slow and cagey first half into the wind, the welcome turn back felt like a second start line!

Sound the PB klaxon! 🔔🔔🔔

I had the pleasure of watching the brilliant tazzypates come across the finish line of the worthing10k yesterday with a huuuuuge PB - and an even bigger smile on her face.

A fast 10K is no easy feat (it's my nemesis!) and Taryn gave it everything! She was so dedicated to her training but more importantly went into the race knowing she could do it. She'd put in the miles and had the speed in her legs to nail this run.

I can't wait to see what's next for this Aussie dynamo 🌟

Stats:
41:07
4:05/km
11th woman
2nd V35
