Can I cancel, defer or transfer my registration?

The deadline to cancel and receive a refund on your entry is Sunday 28th April. Number transfers or deferrals are not permitted.

Can I enter on the day of the race?

No entries will be taken on the day of the race.

When do entries close?

Entries close at midnight on Sunday 26th May (or sooner if we reach our capacity).

How old do I need to be to run?

The minimum ages to participate are:

  • 10K – 15yrs old on the day of the race
  • 5k – 13yrs old on the day of the race
  • Junior mini mile – 7yrs old on the day of the race
Can I enter a group of friends or colleagues?

Yes, you can enter a group of up to 5 runners on each registration.

Can I use a wheelchair, pushchair, buggy or similar?

Unfortunately our course is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or buggies. The course has a few twists and turns and there will be times when the route is quite congested.

When will I receive my race pack?

Your race pack, including your number, will be sent in the post approx. 2 weeks before the event.

What contents will I receive within my race pack?

Your race pack will include your running number and a race day guide with information to ensure you are ready for the event. Your running number will have your personal ‘electronic running chip’ fixed on the reverse of the number. This is activated as you cross the start & finish line and will give you your own personal ‘chip time’ to complete the course. Also included is a baggage tag. If you wish to drop your bag off in the secure baggage area whilst you run then please attach your baggage tag to your bag and present your bag at the secure baggage area before the start.

What if I lose my race pack?

If you lose your race number please come to the help desk on the race day to have a replacement issued. The help desk is open from 0800hrs until the race starts. To have a replacement issued you must bring proof of entry, this can be a confirmation email or bank statement and photo identification. Please note there will be a limited number of replacement packs and these will be issued on a first come first served basis.

What time does the race start?

The 5k starts at 0900hrs on Saturday 1st June.
The Junior Mini Mile races commence at 1000hrs on Saturday 1st June.
The 10k starts at 0930hrs on Sunday 2nd June.

What time should I arrive?

It’s best to arrive no later than 0830hrs to ensure you’re able to drop your baggage, visit the loos & relax.

Are there starting pens and if so, how do they work?

Yes, at the start you’ll need to enter a pen that correlates with the estimated finishing time that you gave us when you registered. This ensures that you’ll run alongside others of comparable ability.

Can I run wearing headphones?

The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic. This restriction does not apply to races held on dual carriageways provided that there are clear, structured separations between the separate carriageways. Competition Providers of races held entirely on roads closed to traffic may apply this condition where appropriate to local circumstances.

As the Worthing 10K is held entirely on roads closed to traffic, we do permit the use of headphones.

Can I run in fancy dress?

Yes but if your costume is really extreme then please liaise with the organisers.

If arriving by train, which is the best train station to arrive at?

Worthing station is 1 mile from the race start.

Are there toilets available on the course?

There will be toilets available on the course, further information to follow shortly.

Are there km markers?

Yes, there are markers at each km point on the course.

Are there pace makers?

Yes, there will be pacemakers at the 40min, 45min, 50min, 55min, and 60min time points.

Is there a time limit to complete the course?

Yes, the traffic management team will make preparations to open the roads based on a 90min running time. If you fall behind this schedule, you’ll still be able to complete the event but will be advised to run on the pavements.

Are there first aid points on the course?

Yes, there is a medical treatment centre at the start/finish and mobile medical resource covering the course.

Do all runners get a medal?

All finishers of the Worthing 10K will receive a fabulous medal.

When will the results be available?

If you included a mobile no. on your registration, you will receive a text message confirming your time shortly after completing the race. The results will also be published on the event website.
